Traveled far from Southern California to experience a Vietnamese style buffet! The food is great and service is exactly what you'd expect if you cannot speak Vietnamese. We came for dinner around 5pm, and everything was fresh out of the kitchen. The biggest impression are the foods that I've never tried before unless we're at a night market. They had plenty of street style foods over the grill like oysters, wrapped banana leaf, and nem nuong meatballs. I think our favorite was the cold cut Hainan chicken (beautiful cuts and tasty scallion oil). The most disappointed was the crispy roast pork (pure fat, no layers of meat) The soup station was just decent. The broth wasn't hot enough but the chao was tasty. Don't forget to stop by the dessert station where they make a bunch of hot desserts or their classic three color dessert over ice. It was worth coming out once a blue moon but I'm glad we checked it off our list.

Good selection of Vietnamese food and a large dining room for quick service. It felt more sanitary bcs they served the food in the buffet line. Lots of noodle soup options and street foods. Wish some of the dishes were hotter. Overall recommend.

I came here with my family for charity event and let just say I'm impressed by how consistent and organized Kim Son is for food and service. Different events calls for different vibes and attire, but overall chill for a casual night out.

If you want to explore Vietnamese cuisine, Kim Son's is the perfect place to go! This Vietnamese buffet restaurant on Bellaire Blvd is important for its wide-ranging menu and interesting serving approach. We arrived at lunchtime; the restaurant was busy but not overly crowded. The buffet features a wide variety of dishes, including some not typically found on Vietnamese restaurant menus. It offers a fantastic way to experience many diverse flavors and a variety of textures in a single meal. I truly appreciate their serving system; instead of self-serve, staff plate all the food. This rigorously guarantees sanitary conditions and effectively prevents multiple people from handling the serving utensils. I wholeheartedly commend them for this exceptionally clever approach. it's a smart way to keep things clean while still offering the large convenience of a buffet. Kim Som restaurant provides a superb introduction to Vietnamese food, featuring dishes that go beyond the typical fare. It's worthwhile to visit; you'll have a rewarding experience.

This is the only Vietnamese buffet in the U.S. however, the options are not limited to just Vietnamese, there's also Chinese and Japanese food. It gets really busy here so plan to wait or come right when they open. I appreciate the natural light coming in from the windows but no one cares about the ambiance here, what we care about is the food and on imo they deliver. There's a soup station with made to order noodle soups from pho and wonton noodle soup to bun bo hue, banh canh, etc. they have a variety of stir fried dishes, banh xeo, banh bot loc, spring rolls, dim sum, and a variety of Vietnamese desserts. It's almost impossible to try everything without getting full because there's so much. I come here to satisfy my Vietnamese food cravings when I visit Houston and then I'm good for at least a month or two. This is not your fancy buffet so don't come with high expectations. They do serve you which can be a hassle when you just want a little bit bc there is a language barrier or bc it's too loud. It's an inconvenience but then I appreciate not touching tongs that thousands have touched especially during flu season.

I'd heard about the famous Kim Son buffet off Bellaire but had never had a chance to visit it. When my wife and I finally had a mutual day off and a common interest in trying out Vietnamese cuisine, we jumped on the opportunity. The dining area is shockingly spacious and the buffet is lined out in distinct sections. You can grab a variety of hot and cold items with a street food station and ramen station on one side and the desserts on the other. Everything looks good, and depending on your preferences, pretty much everything tastes good too. The only real issue I saw with anything is the general lack of communication that the staff has with the customers. The staff serves everything on the buffet, which is great for making sure things remain sanitary. However, on more than one occasion, I asked for a small amount of a dish to try something without wasting it, was completely ignored, and handed a ton of food. This may not be the original Kim Son location (I believe that distinction belongs to the East End outpost), but I believe it's become the most iconic one now.

This place was an absolute delight for me and my family. Despite the massive crowd and a 30-minute wait to be seated, the anticipation only added to the experience. The ambiance was typical of a Vietnamese restaurant--casual and inviting--and the buffet did not disappoint. Everything we tried was flavorful, with many dishes leaning toward the sweeter side, which is characteristic of Vietnamese cuisine. The standout feature was undoubtedly the noodle station, offering an impressive 19 traditional Vietnamese noodle varieties. I sampled 12 of them (thanks to some strategic sharing!) and was blown away by the variety and authentic flavors. If you're a fan of Vietnamese cuisine, especially noodles, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Kim Son Traditional Vietnamese and Chinese Cruisine. The variety of traditional and modern dishes are very well done. From several Noodle Soup, Wok dishes, Dumplings, Sticky Rice, Crepes, Stir Fry, Noodle Entrees, Seafood, several rice dishes, oysters, there is something for everyone. One of the better Asian Buffets that I have been to with high quality of items and entrees. Remember, it is a marathon, not a sprint, so enjoy the experience Kim Son offers you. Enjoy
